Evaluation of The Co-Op After School Program at The Academy Project

The Academy Project (TAP) is a Los Angeles nonprofit founded in 2015, dedicated to improving the success of youth in foster care by using education as a cornerstone of stability. The Co-Op is TAP’s after-school program, designed around key development aspects, including social support and community building alongside academic encouragement. Through comprehensive services TAP hopes to increase educational success, student wellness, capability, and confidence. Now, a new partnership between the Field Center for Children’s Policy, Practice & Research and The Academy Project will evaluate whether the program is achieving its intended goals. Field Center researchers are providing consultation and evaluation services and will disseminate findings to inform best practices in youth services.
