Campus Programming

PROFS Program: Providing Resources and Opportunities for Future Standouts

PROFS is a one-of-a-kind support program for students who are current or former members of the foster care system. The PROFS program helps students transition to college life and encourages students to reach their potential and be a positive example for others who have also gone through the system and/or systemic challenges. PROFS students are required to participate in PROFS-sponsored semester events (on and off campus), monthly family dinners, monthly group meetings, and monthly meetings with the program’s Single Point of Contact (Director of Access & Persistence).

Benefits of joining PROFS include:

Book stipend (if qualified)
$250 or $500 semesterly stipend for maintaining GPA of 2.0 or above. Stipend increases to $500 if GPA is between 3.0 and 4.0.
Guaranteed year-round housing for PROFS students living on-campus (free during winter & summer break)
Group activities (on & off campus)
Mentorship
Other scholarship opportunities for PROFS students
Provided a PROFS Success Coach for additional support
Connection to campus and community resources to access basic needs (healthcare, food, transportation, basic needs, etc.)

Student Success Center

The KU Student Success Center empowers students to be successful at Kutztown University through engagement in academic support programs to foster academic and personal growth along the path to graduation. Student Success Navigators are full-time staff members committed to guiding students through their academic journey. Each new student is assigned a Navigator upon submitting their deposit and can begin connecting with them starting one week before Orientation. Students can find their assigned Navigator in MyKU and Starfish.

Tutoring Services

Tutoring Services are available to support students with courses, organization strategies, time management, and campus resources to help with academic success. Students can request a tutoring appointment and also can request an academic peer mentor for additional support.
