For students in or aging out of foster care, transitioning to higher education can be especially challenging without resources and support. As the majority of youth in foster care aspire to attend college, effective policies and practice should be implemented to promote enhanced college attendance, retention, and graduation.

Hear from a panel of college students and/or graduates, each with experience in foster care, to share their insights about how the transition from high school to college and beyond can be supported for this population.

The panel discussion will be followed by a reception with youth speakers.

Location: PennGSE, Stiteler Building Rooms 355-357, 208 S. 37th Street (between Locust Walk and Walnut Street), Philadelphia, PA 19104

Dorm Room Drive: We will be collecting items to donate to local colleges and universities that provide support to students with foster care experience. Please bring an item for a student dorm room with you to this event!

This event is co-sponsored by the Office of School and Community Engagement (OSCE) at Penn GSE and the Field Center for Children’s Policy, Practice & Research at SP2.
