Campus Programming
Carlow Community Scholars
The Carlow Community Scholars Program utilizes a coaching model to support qualified students who have experienced foster care and/or homelessness during their K-12 years. The program foregrounds a holistic approach that includes several life domains, focusing not only on academic success but also relationship building, career development, financial wellness, and personal identity development. Participants can access break and summer housing as well as academic and other material items.
Additional Programming
The campus has a food pantry, the Purple Door, that is open to students and neighborhood community members. Students can also access up to $500 a year of emergency funds. For the 2024-25 academic year, the institution received a grant, Parenting Pathways, to support students who are parents.
Supplemental Information
- As a faith-based institution founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Carlow is called upon to “meet the next great need” in society. Developing the Community Scholars program was an outgrowth of our core mission and values.
