H.O.M.E. (Housing, Opportunities, Mentorship, and Empowerment) Program
The H.O.M.E. Program (Housing, Opportunity, Mentorship, and Empowerment) at Arcadia University provides former foster care youth with the support and resources needed to succeed in college. Led by professionals in Student Engagement and Admissions, with guidance from university leadership and dedicated mentors, the program fosters academic, social, and personal growth.
H.O.M.E. offers personalized mentorship and success coaching through weekly meetings, financial guidance with semesterly advisor check-ins, and FAFSA and financial aid assistance. Students build a sense of community through monthly family dinners, peer mentorship, and participation in campus events. The program also emphasizes career readiness, requiring students to maintain a job or internship, including over breaks.
Academic success is supported through study groups and structured guidance, ensuring students stay on track while maintaining full-time enrollment and good academic standing. By challenging stigmas surrounding foster care and providing comprehensive support, H.O.M.E. empowers students to thrive, build meaningful connections, and create a strong foundation for their future.
